How to Make Money With Articles

by: Adam Beazley

Article syndication is the process of submitting your written articles to different content websites. The purpose of doing this is to gain exposure for yourself and your business. You gain exposure when a webmaster likes your article and publishes it on their website. In doing so the webmaster is giving you free publicity by presenting you as an authority on the subject of your article.

The article will generally get placed on a higher traffic webpage on the site where the visitors can read and learn from it. It is required by the content publishing company that the webmaster leave your 'Author Bio' information attached to the article, which will effectively advertise you and your chosen website. This non-reciprocal link from your published article to your website serves multiple purposes. One it makes your website more popular in the eyes of the Google algorithm and two it drives targeted traffic to your website. The traffic is targeted because the person who just read your article is clicking on your link; this is done generally because he/she is interested in you and/or your business.

If done effectively, article writing and syndication can do wonders for your business. The usefulness of articles doesn’t stop at the benefits listed above. If you tailor your article correctly you can have it reach top rankings in Google and create multiple instant sales.

To achieve this you must learn a few things about Google and article syndication. If you don’t already know, the new Google algorithm "Orion" highly favors content over any other forms of advertising. The days of doorway pages, splash pages and landing pages are over, so naturally content driven websites and articles will begin to make their way to the top of the Google rankings.

The key to getting your article to the top is by targeting certain keyword phrases. You don’t want to target the most used and most popular keyword phrases, instead you want to target less used keyword phrases. What you want to do is look for phrases that only have from 500 - 1500 results in Google.

To start you can research phrases with a handy little tool located here:
http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

This tool will allow you to input a popular keyword phrase and it will give you a list of related keyword phrases. You can use this to find keyword phrases that gets about 500 - 1000 queries per month. After you find a few good keyword phrase candidates, you can go to Google and check the current number of results. To do this you simply type the keyword phrase in "quotes" and Google will return the number of results for that particular phrase. Remember you are looking for anywhere between 500 and 1500 results.

Once you have your targeted keyword phrase, its time to write your new article. Of course your article will be based on the keyword phrase you are targeting and not only that but the title of the article will need to have the keyword phrase in it. Ill say that again, your article title needs to have the keyword phrase that you are targeting in it, preferably word for word.

Many people are lazy and are not going to write articles and that’s ok, but those people should definitely invest in a good ghost writing company to write their article for them. I use JustArticles and a special niche club in addition to writing my own articles.

Once you have your article or articles written, now its time to syndicate them to as many content sites as possible. You can do this by hand or with special software, I prefer to use the software (article submitter pro) because I can syndicate to about 700 sites in a few days instead of a few weeks. If you choose to syndicate by hand you can get a huge list of article directories through this link:
http://www.plug-in-home-business.com/freestuff.html

Simply following the instructions above will do wonders for your business, by getting your article published with your website link at the bottom. However, we are going to take this a few steps further to maximize our profit.

The secret is to embed links in your article body which point to products that you are selling. Not just any products will do, you should have products that directly relates to the article subject matter.

You can NOT embed links on every article directory site. You must read each article site's 'submission guidelines' before attempting to put in any live links in the body of your article, otherwise your article will not get approved. Some sites only allow text, some only allow certain types of html code, others allow 3 links in the body and still others do not allow affiliate links at all, so you have to read what you can and can not do. My advice is to submit your article no matter what, weather it has the links it or not.

The fact is most submission sites state that affiliate links are not allowed however they do allow you to link to your own site which can then redirect them to your affiliate product. If you have a website you need to make some redirect links, if you do not have a website then you can use usfreeads.com and redirect (checkbox) through the classified add that you would setup for each product.

To setup a redirect link simply follow the directions at this website:
http://www.macalester.edu/its/docs/howto/urlredirect/

You will need one redirect (name.html) page for each affiliate product that you are selling. Now its time to insert the links into your article using the a href="" tag to embed the link in a word. Be sure to save your article as a simple text file before you begin to code. It is a good idea to have a few different versions of your article on hand for each article directory. I usually save a text version, a light (3 links) html version, a heavy (<3 links) version and a full html version. This makes your submission time much more efficient, and you won’t find yourself coding and writing on each article content site.

When you take these lessons and put them into practice you are not only achieving long term traffic and better Google rankings, but you can potentially make some very quick sales.

How to Drive Targeted Traffic to Your Brand-New Website within 24 Hours

by: Davion Wong

You may have just built a sparkling cool website, with all the money-making affiliate links plugged in, or just a simple website promoting your own business services. Whether you are an internet newbie or experienced marketer, we all know that without traffic, even if your website is a knock-out, no one will ever get to see it and be wowed by it. But more importantly, no traffic equals no sales. Period.

When I first started out as an affiliate, I tried many means of advertising for my affiliate programs. I tried safelists, first submitting to them manually, then moved on to automated submission to zillions of them. I also bought leads for my MLM programs, supposedly good leads. Yes, I did make some sales and recruited some downlines, but the results are far from fantastic. And all these efforts are time-consuming and can be very expensive, and at times can be demoralizing. Imagine sending a powerful email advertisement to thousands of “so-called” quality leads and only hearing from a few of them. I forgot to mention about those cheap traffic offered on the internet. Many of them are just pop-over, pop-under ads which get “killed” by pop-killers.

If you had the same experience, there is a way out. With pay-per-click (PPC) search engines, you can now drive targeted traffic to your website. Never mind if it is indexed for ages or it is a brand new website created just minutes ago. Targeted traffic is worth a ton. You know that people who find your site are already interested in your product or affiliate program. This means higher conversions, and more sales. With a good product, good targeted keywords and a well-written ad, conversion can be in the range of 3 - 5 %.

Google and Overture are the biggest PPC search engines, with the largest network of engines. Setting up a campaign with Adwords will not take more than an hour if you have your keywords and ads ready. In fact, you will begin to see massive traffic streaming in as soon as 15 minutes after you set up your campaign. Yes, it will cost you more but you are only paying for relevant clicks, not for views/impressions. And the traffic is targeted and converts much better.

As a beginner in setting up PPC ad campaigns, it is good to start with smaller PPC search engines. The clicks there are cheaper, ie can be as low as 1 cent per click though traffic is generally lower. Examples of these search engines are Miva, GoClicks,
7Search.com, ExactSeek, etc. However, if your product is in a competitive industry, the amount of traffic offered by these search engines can add up pretty much.

Also, since they are relatively not as popular as the Big Two, there are some high traffic keywords that are still available for cheap clicks. These are gems to be discovered.
Here’s my take on a few smaller PPC search engines:

1.
7search.com has been a leading ppc advertising network since 1999. It has been receiving mixed reviews from users. The one setback some users have feedback is its lack of Account Management Tools. However, it has also been reported that 7Search.com provides a rock solid customer support system with a guarantee that if their customer support does not respond to your email within 4 business hours, your account will be credited $1. Another unique feature is they will send you an email notification when a competitor outbids your top ranking keyword. The 7Search.com affiliate program also allows webmasters to share in the advertisement revenue. Recently, they have also added 37.com and MegaWeb.com to their stable of partner listings.

2. GoClick is an up and coming PPC that has received outstanding user reviews. The minimum bid price per click is only 1 cent. They are tied to over 60 distribution partners and generate over 300 million searches every month.Your advertisements will also be exposed to parts of the internet world that larger PPCs do not venture to.

So go ahead and try out some of these PPC search engines and start driving traffic within the next 24 hours.

Top Ranked Websites Are Using A Linking Strategy

by: Karianne Kline

Many SEOs quickly learn why they need a linking strategy. They know now that links from other web sites pointing at theirs are improving their page ranking. Let’s see how links generate traffic.

Inbound links are an important way to increase the page rank, to be known in your field, to generate traffic to the website. This is the most important method to generate traffic, to have more visitors, potential clients or website services’ users.

Without traffic, a website is almost useless. Its role can be only a name on a business card or a place to find a products or services list or email addresses.

To bring clients from the Internet, to be alive, to fulfill its main purpose, a web site must have huge traffic. What can a search engine optimizer do to get this important traffic? The web content including the appropriate keywords, the ease navigation, the most appropriate images, the inspired headlines are improving the traffic.

Do not forget the site’s style, sophisticated and simple at the same time, professional and efficient. But the work isn’t over yet. The inbound links strategy must be used too. It brings spectacular results and realizes the traffic that will attire the clients’ attention. The search engines will note the web site.

Some will think that without traffic, a web site is useless as a marketing and selling tool. The web site will not sell products or services, nor communicate ideas or events, and won't publish articles about any imaginable subject.

As we have already established, the traffic will be increased in the most spectacular way by getting links from other important websites, and having related topics. You will receive direct traffic from links, but mainly from links that have similar audiences to the main website.
A client visiting a web site similar to the main one, seeing the link to the main one, will visit it immediately. He becomes a potential client, increases the traffic, and improve, finally, the main site’s rank. 21% of the entire traffic is the result of inbound links. This is not a secret, top ranked web sites are using this successful strategy and everyone can see the results.

What is the reason why people are clicking the new links? First of all, this is the human curiosity in action. Maybe the next site can have more products, best prices, most appropriate services.
Maybe the next site is looking better and it is giving to its visitors the look and feel they are waiting for, maybe the next site is more useful, interesting and helpful. The visitors, potential clients at the same time, are hoping to find something to amaze them, to make them purchase without regrets and doubts.

Part of your linking strategy is joining a linking directory. You will need to do a search for these websites with a high PR. In these directories, you will have great success because they are where the strong, relevant websites are. To start linking your websites to higher ranked sites, go to:
o
http://www.mylinkmachine.com/
Another part of your linking strategy should be to include your link in articles that you submit to article directories. This will help you out a lot because if a reader is interested in your article, chances are that they will click on your link to learn more. A great site to submit your articles is:
o

If you are submitting articles and are looking for a faster and easier way to do this, you might want to consider an automatic article submitter. To watch a video on how to accomplish this, go to:

Advantages Of Ebooks

by: Danny VDV

Gone are the days when you had to wait in line at the library or run to your nearest bookstore to read up on some information. Gone are the days where people had to wait to get their hands on a popular book or buy it at expensive rates. Today at the click of a mouse, a world of written content is available for you, right at your fingertips. All you need to do is enter the site, register and make easy online payment, which is double quick. Once that is done, you have access to download the book to any file on your system. Yes, it really is that easy! You can have your book within minutes, all from the comfort of your home at any time.

Apart from being ecologically friendly, ebooks are easy to carry around. To carry more than ten physical books would be a difficult task, but with ebooks you can carry hundreds on a CD. Physical books normally undergo wear and tear over time. They collect dust and can be destroyed easily. Ebooks are safely stored on an electronic devise so you can refer to it when you want to. Imagine if you want to find a particular section in a book with hundred pages. It would atleast take you fifteen minutes to turn all the pages and locate your information. An ebook allows you to ‘search’ for your data and gives you immediate results. Not only will it point out the section that you want but it can also give you more data by way of external links! Thus your resource can lead you to more updated information.

For those of you who love the feel of a physical book in your hands, there is a solution. An ebook can be printed in the font and format you desire. For those who prefer to have a book read to them, the option of converting it into audio is available. If you live far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is a perfect solution for you. Downloading a book does not require you to travel a long distance to acquire your material. This works well for students and researchers who don’t have time to spare.

If you have children in the house, it is almost certain that physical books get misplaced. An ebook cannot be accessed so easily at it lies within a system. With an ebook you can easily mark out portions and highlight sentences and you have the opportunity to remove highlights later. With a physical book, people prefer not to mark out sections, because it is irreversible and does not look good. Writing an ebook is also simple as collected data can be easily segregated into sections.

Buy Web Traffic – 5 Ways to Immediately Increase Website Traffic

by: JP Richards

Buying web traffic today? It’s a well know fact that more than 80% of your traffic will come from search engines, and the rest comes from online banner advertising, email marketing, and mobile phones.

Here’s 5 Ways to Buy Web Traffic

1. Buy “sponsored links” or banner ads through Google Adwords or Overture.

2. Pay a SEO Company or Specialist to search engine optimize (SEO) your website for top 10 rankings for keywords your potential customers are typing to find your products or services.

3. Capture as much emails you can through “opt-in” mechanism on your website or through tradeshows or client contact. Then deliver consistent advertorial emails.

4. Advertise on other company’s e-zines or through other “opt-in email” lists for your target audience.

5. Place your company’s URL (website address) everywhere! On your voice mail, signature of emails, etc. Then give them an incentive for people to go to your website like a free consultation or industry specific articles.

If you want to immediately buy web traffic with a great return on investment (ROI), I recommend pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. Start with Google Adwords, then PPC advertising with Overture because in my years of PPC advertising Google is simpler and gets a better ROI.

Within two to four weeks of PPC advertising, you will be able to tell what keywords are converting to customers for you, and then you can hone your marketing messages and start to invest in SEO.

Want Free Website Traffic?

PPC advertising still delivers a phenomenal ROI, but it does get more expensive by the month as more and more people are bidding for keywords. A great three to six month investment is hiring a SEO Company, who can guarantee you get into your website organically into the top 30 search engine results page (SERP) where 90% of the search engine traffic goes.

Whether you buy web traffic or comes to you for free, the bottom-line is it targeted traffic? Meaning, is the traffic your target audience who’s coming? Otherwise you’re wasting your money, time, and energy on traffic. Happy buying.

Search Engine Optimization of Your Blog

by: Rakesh Ojha

Now-a-days installing blogging softwares are just few minutes of click and run jobs. In few minutes you can install a nice looking blog ready to be published. Until this stage, everything seems simple, but when it comes to promoting something as complex as blogging softwares or CMS (Content Management System) applications for that mater, on which blogging softwares are based, can be quite tricky and painful. It is as much painfully easy to install blog software, as it is painfully hard to promote it on search engines if you do not know the correct direction to make headway.

Even though Wordpress comes with features which will help you to make your blog search engine optimized, but these are too basic features to be relied on and you will still need to make changes yourself to better it.

Mata Tags

Meta tags which are important for search engine optimizing your blog, doesn’t come bundled with your Wordpress, when you install it. You will need to install a plugins to have your meta tags displayed on your blog head. Meta tags can be added in the header.php file of your blog. A list of popular Mata tags plugins can be found at http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/Meta.

Permalink Tag

Every blog has a Permalink feature; it is the permanent link (URL) to a post or page on your blog. Having keyword rich URLs will surely help your blog being pulled for important keywords. You can customize your permalink structure to have more keywords instead of default /category/year/date/time/hour/minute/second/post_title as your post URL. For instance, you can remove %seconds%, %hour% or %post_id% in your parmalink tag. These are not necessary and having them as your URIs will only make it look longer. Also you can do away with %date% tag altogether to just have %category% in the URIs.

Category names

Be careful while making categories. You can always have the category names as keywords so that your final URIs will be full of keywords.

Tagging

You can have tags especially Technorati Tag plug-in installed for your blog posts. Tags are basically names of categories or subjects. With tags in your post, you can categorize your posts based on these tags. While tagging will increases traffic to your blog, it will also make it search engine friendly.

Making above changes to your blog will definitely make it look more search engine optimized and will help you increase its online visibility in Search engine result pages (SERPs).

Happy SEO Blogging!!

How To Get Repeat Visitors To Your Website

by: Paul Moore

As the proud publisher of a website I'm sure you have spent a considerable amount of time and effort to attract traffic to your site. It's not difficult to realize how it is to your advantage to get repeat visitors to your website, rather than to constantly be relying on finding someone new. A visitor who has previously viewed your website offerings is much more likely to become your customer than a first time visitor. To this end, I would like you to consider the following suggestions.

Update your website pages frequently. Stagnant sites are more likely to be dropped by some search engines than a site that is dynamic. You may even think about placing a date counter on the page to show when it was last updated. The search engines will spider your site more often, and your visitors are more inclined to return on a regular basis to see what's new.

Offer additional value on your website. You can place links to affiliate and partner sites and products and request that they do the same for you. It is also effective to promote their books or videos as long as these products relate to your industry and are not in competition with your own product. You can invite customers to ‘opt in’ to get discounts and special offers. Place a link on your site to ask customers to ‘opt in’ to get a monthly newsletter or valuable coupons.

Place a “Book Mark” or “Add This Site to Your Favorites” link on your home page to encourage visitors to return. Add a link titled “Recommend this site to a Friend” so that the visitor can email your website link, with a pre-written title, for example, “Thought you might be interested in this”, just by clicking on it. In other words, make it as easy as possible for your visitors to return to your website and to invite their friends to do the same.

Brand your website so that visitors can easily see that they are on “your” site. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans throughout the site and always include a “Contact Us” link on each page. Create a page titled “Our Policies” that clearly explains your philosophy and principles in customer relations. Also post your privacy policy as well so that clients know they are secure when they visit your site. Create a FAQ page which addresses and clarifies the most likely issues about your product or your company that are likely to be asked about. This will help to resolve most of the customers concerns in their first visit to your site.

Ensure that each page on your website has proper titles and keywords so that your customer can find their way back to your site if they lose the book mark. Never, never, NEVER! spam a visitor, who has opted in for newsletters or information, with unsolicited emails. If they later decide that they want to “opt out” of your newsletter or other mail, be sure you take them off the mailing list immediately. They may return if they like your products. But they will surely not come back if you continue to flood their email box with mails they consider “junk mail” or spam. Just remember to give your visitors plenty of reasons to want to revisit your website, and make it as simple as you can for them. They will be back.

Traffic To Your Blog

by: Rakesh Ojha
Setting up a blog is easy but maintaining and promoting it in search engines needs specialized skills. You need to understand how blog functions and in what ways it can be promoted successfully to generate instant and constant stream of traffic.

Whenever you update or add posts to your blog, you can ping to let services (designed specifically for connecting blogs.) know your blog content have changed since last update. This is like telling others that you have changed. It is seen that pinging increases traffic to your blog.

With Wordpress, checking for updates in your blog is done automatically and the changes are reflected usually by moving you blog links on top of bloggers’ blogroll list. This way you get more clicks to your blog.

If you want to increase more traffic to your blog, you can install additional pinging services. It’s seen that pinging frequently increase traffic to your blog. Most of the blogging software comes with at leas one ping updates which pings every time you add a new post; but if you want to ping even if you edit your post to update it, you need to install additional plug-ins.

Wordpress bloggers can add additional update ping services by simply login to there account and adding more update services in their list present at the bottom of the sub-sub menu Writing tab under Option menu. A long list if services to be added can be found here at http://elliottback.com/wp/archives/2004/11/21/a-list-of-rpc-and-rpc2-to-ping/.

Besides pinging services, you will also need to submit your Rss feeds to various directories and search engines to increase traffic to your blog. One advanced tip (often missed) while making your Rss feeds is to carefully select keywords which are high on traffic but low in competition and use them in the text of the feeds. Also update your feeds more often to increase your chance of being found in the SERPs.

The 10 Biggest Search Engine Optimization Mistakes

The 10 Biggest Search Engine Optimization Mistakes: #1: Wrong Keywords
by: David Bain

The vast majority of websites haven’t got a clue about keywords. If you don’t know what words your potential customers are using in search engines to try and find a business like yours, then it’s hardly worth while having a website.

The Meta Keywords Myth

Most people setting up a website guess at which words or phrases their potential customers might associate with their business. These words and phrases are then thrown into the Meta Keywords Tag, with the belief that before long website visitors will start rolling in. Nothing could be further than the truth.

The reality is that the right keywords have to be placed strategically in many areas of website coding before they can have an opportunity to positively impact an increase in right kind of visitors from search engines.

However, before the correct placing of your keywords can be considered, you have to make sure that you’re using the right ones for your website.

Making sure you choose the right keywords

There are many websites that let you search for how many times a particular keyword or phrase was searched for on the Internet over the past month. Once of the best and most popular is the Overture Keyword Selector Tool: http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

This free-to-use research tool should be experimented with to determine the single best keyword phrase for the most efficient optimization of your home page.

It’s extremely tempting to research the most commonly searched for word in your industry, and then optimize your website for that word in an attempt to attract as many website visitors as possible. An important factor to bear in mind though is that thousands if not millions of websites in your industry will be competing for those single keywords. The trick is to aim for your website to be on the top page of search results for Google, Yahoo and MSN search results for a keyword phrase that is moderately popular for your industry.

How to choose the right keyword phrase

Your chance of appearing in the top page of search engine results is greatly enhanced if you focus your website optimisation efforts on two or three-word phrases instead of single words. But how do you choose the right keyword phrase?

Start by typing what you think your most popular industry keyword would be into the Overture Keyword Selector. You will then be shown other phrases that contain your chosen word, and the amount of times that word has been searched for on Internet search engines over the past month.

An example of a good keyword phrase to aim for

For my website, http://www.DavidBain.biz I initially considered the word ‘Internet’, because I advise businesses on how most effectively to use that medium. Although it’s searched for on average over 600,000 time for each month, the reality is that I have no chance whatsoever of ever featuring in a top page of search results for that word.

I then briefly considered the phrase ‘Internet Marketing’. This is still too popular as well though, as it is searched for over 200,000 times a month

I finally opted for the keyword phrase ‘Internet Marketing Consultant’ which is searched for around 4000 times a month. I’m confident that although my website doesn’t appear on top pages in search engines for that phrase now, it will in the future. And even if 10% of those 4000 searches convert into visitors to my website, it’s well worth it. Why see if you can use the Overture Keyword Selector Tool to improve your chosen keywords now?

Tips to make a successful cold call

The first step in practicing our cold calls is to develop a script. The value of a cold calling script is several-fold. First, a script will ensure that we are prepared. In addition to the professional considerations of being prepared, being prepared will allow us to be in control of the call. If we are in control of the call, we will be much more at ease, since we will control the flow and direction of the conversation.
The second benefit of being prepared is consistency. Once we develop something that works, stick with it. A script will allow us to do that. We don't mean to imply that, once written, we should never again reevaluate your script. What we do mean to say that there are core elements to a script.

Five elements of successful cold call script

1) Get the Prospect's Attention

The first element of a successful cold call script is to get the attention of the prospect. Remember, he was not waiting for your call and was probably thinking about another subject when you called. Your first job is to break the prospect's preoccupation with what he was doing so that he pays attention to you. You have about ten seconds to accomplish this goal.

2) Introduce Yourself

The second element of a succesful cold call script is to introduce yourself. You should be quite accomplished with this and can consider the following statement:

This is John Doe of Great Day Management Company.
How are you today? Great!

Introducing yourself is an integral part of the foregoing statement work is the phrase "How are you today?" Remember, you are making a cold call and the prospect knows this. There is a natural barrier between the prospect and yourself. What you need at this point is what professional speaker call an "ice breaker" a phrase or statement delivered by the speaker to draw the audience into the speech.

3) State your Reason for Calling

Consider this statement:

The reason I'm calling is because I sent you some information about our organization in the mail. We provide financial management services to large organizations like yours.

Please note that although we state that the reason we called is because we sent Mr John something in the mail, mail is not a required precursor to your cold call. Mail should be sent as part of a structured process or program. If it is not part of a process, it may serve to lengthen the sales cycle. Unfortunately, most salespeople send mail in order to avoid making the cold call. They believe that the prospect will read the mail and call in to place an order, removing the need for the cold call in the first place. As we noted earlier, this is not likely to be the case. The most likely outcome, that the prospect will not call, is not one that enhances the probability of a positive outcome in the sales process. You may receive higher return on your investment by simply making more calls.

4) Ask a Question

Now that the prospect knows what we do, we put the ball back in their court by asking the second question. Consultative salespeople are at their best when they are asking probing, open ended questions. The salesperson does very little talking and a lot of listening. By asking the following open ended question, we give the prospect a great deal of latitude in telling me about their business and its needs. The big benefit to us is that because of the latitude we have given the prospect, they will, in all likelihood, give us the opportunity to identify a need of their company and thus establish the basis for a face-to-face appointment.
We ask:

How do you handle your needs for those types of services at your company?

Mr John, I'm sure that you, like many of my best customers, would like to save several thousand dollars on the cost of....

You can only do this if you first understand their business and their needs. Listen carefully, and without interruption, to their response.

5) Get the Appointment

Now we go for the close. We have just listened attentively to how the prospect currently handles his need for our product or service. Then begin the transfer of additional enthusiasm and get the appointment.
